Our Unique Feltmaking Studio
Our programme of feltmaking and textiles courses is now in its third year and continues to go from strength to strength.
Moral Fibre is the only studio in the country devoted to the art of feltmaking, and whether you want to learn feltmaking from scratch or develop your skills and learn more, we have a course which will inspire you and send you home with lots of new techniques and tips. We invite tutors from all over the UK and Europe, bringing you the very best from experienced and talented feltmakers who are passionate about their craft and about helping you to develop your artistic and technical abilities.
Beautiful surroundings
If you love feltmaking and textiles you will love our light, spacious and welcoming studio. Best of all, you will be surrounded by wonderful fibres of every kind. It's a haven for anyone who wants to learn more about how different fibres can be used to the best effect. We have lots of experience and can save you days of trial and error by sharing our knowledge of the various sheep breeds and how their fleece performs. Our specialism is Nuno Felting and Garment making, but we also run popular courses making rugs, wallhangings, boots and bags.
We stock a gorgeous range of dyed colours too, and all kinds of sumptuous fabrics that you can use to develop your feltmaking repertoire.
Inspiration and expertise
Book a place on one of our courses and you will get a full day (or weekend) of intensive learning. We are committed to ensuring that our courses are value for money and that you find out all you need to know. We want you to go home buzzing with ideas and even after the course is over we will be here to answer any questions you may have.
You will work in a group of around eight people - the perfect size for getting to know people, sharing ideas and learning from each other as well as from the tutor. Many of our customers come back again and again. It's great to hear that our courses fulfil their expectations and that they have great fun while they are here too!
A creative break
All in all, we are sure that you will learn something new with us while having a great time. To ensure that your creative juices keep flowing, we will keep you supplied with tea, coffee and delicious biscuits. Ludlow is a beautiful town, famed for its architecture and its food. We can recommend a lunchtime exploration of the delis and cafés you will find tucked away in medieval alleyways and courtyards ... if you can drag yourself away from the studio that is!.
